SXSW 2013 post mortem

The whirlwind of SXSW has come and gone, once again.  I'm just getting over it.  9 public and private shows over the week, in addition to meetings and luncheons and parties.  It was a total blast.  I love that people from all over the world come here to find music and meet people, pimp their wares and enjoy some of the city.  Here are some of my highlights, in chronological order...

Quiet Company performance at Waterloo Records.  Drummer Jeff Weathers mic'd up a guitar case to play instead of a drum kit.  Bass player Matt Parmenter has produced songs for me AND I got him to sign my arm...  Note to self: Sharpie is called "permanent" for a reason.

Sonos Day Party - free food, drinks, music, and HAIRCUTS!

My official SXSW 2013 showcase at The Parish Underground, featuring the amazing Tosca String Quartet and followed by Ruby Jane and her fabulous band.  YES!

Brunch Francais before my afternoon showcase at the Austin Angers Day Party (Angers is Austin's newest sister city in the Loire Valley of France)

And then DARIA rocked our faces off.

MEOW/WIMPS High Tea with the most bad-ass ladies around.  We are fortunate to have such amazing women's organizations based right here in Austin. Thanks to Amanda Garcia for this pic:

Richard Thompson performance at Waterloo Records.  Thanks to JVZ for the VIP treatment.

My solo sets at 2 stunning homes that are also recording studios: AM Stereophonic and Blue Rock

K1ll3R 2013 party at Austin Java, hosted by Killer herself, one of the coolest hustlers around.

Final installments of 2 Sunday residencies: One at University Baptist Church, where the hundred-year-old sanctuary has the most beautiful acoustics and a loving congregation, and the other at Spicewood Tavern for the Soul of a Musician series, where the performance is peppered with discussion about creativity and spirituality.  Very cool.  Check out their amazing lineup of upcoming performers.

Getting to see my awesome manager, Kenny Schnurstein of Burn and Shiver, and many more friends and fellow musicians, like Chris and Marco and Greg Garrett, Merrill Wade, and Wendy Colonna...

So much love!  I can't wait til next year!

Please help me spread the word about my upcoming shows in Manhattan:

West Village, NYC  9pm
Tue Apr 16The Living Room
Lower East Side, NYC  9pm

And check out the new single "Anchor"
