I'll kick this off!

My favorite lyric is from "You Got Your Wishes Wrong," which I wrote for Michael Jackson.

"Every angle knows its lines."

Welcome to Austin Erin!

I forgot to tell you how much I love your rendition. First I heard of it was on KUT, and it left me breathless. Almost all the songs have a vibrancy and poignancy to them, but your phrasing really made that song come alive. Thanks for brightening the universe!

Thank you, Tony.

Thanks to you, also, Shlomi! Are you talking about "Johnny Has Gone for a Soldier" on the Dark River CD?

What an amazing song that is! We really go for the dark/hopeful, don't we? ;)

Mine would be from Amelia.."I wasn't quite sure where I was going, I knew that I'd know when I was there..."

I feel that way quite often, living one day at a time, the present day being the most important!

Little bird
you'll fly high above the world
and string up the stars
like they're pearls

Sweet!

Broken Gold:

"Sculpted peaks of the mountains and the clouds"

I got a picture of an Austin sunrise a couple of weeks ago like that....

CanI just say my favorite was the music video with the monkey?! Great song but the video was excellent.

My favorite song on the album is "Pierre Latour." In terms of songwriting it's a gem - the music compliments the lyric perfectly, and the story could easily be an Ernest Hemingway novel - the sad yet heroic tale of a strong soul chasing a dream.

The chorus lyric grows more meaningful with each verse, as a good song does.

After setting up Pierre's character and journey, the final verse strikes, and for me it echoes an almost Apostle-like quality, suggesting he finally found glory in the next life.

"When he came to town the people were waiting for miles
They brought him their children and told him the tales of their trials
He lifted their heads and watered their souls
He told them in prayer that they would never be alone
And for that he rode from town to town and home to home"

Well done, Erin!

I don't know if this is my favorite, but it is really speaking to me right now. The lament of the horn accompanied by your sad but strong repetition of "Sorrow no more" at the end of the song really hits me hard.
Thank you :)
