Music Lab

After two days of getting reacquainted with each other and my recording gear, Paul Anthony and I drove to Chicago for the Red Bull Music Lab. We're in R. Kelly’s notorious former playpen, complete with a lap pool and basketball court (both indoor). When I answered the door, the pizza delivery guy told me he liked my house.

In Peoria, Paul and I started recording guitar and vocals for a song called Dallas (one of my Air Guitar Championship-winning brother’s favorites). We recorded in the tower, then in the dining room, which had a great reverb off of vaulted ceilings and slate floors. I recorded a couple of vocal takes sitting on the floor wrapped completely under a blanket and we’ll track in the basketball court here, too… I've started working again with the Music Lab track I made last year in Dallas (Gone), to clean it up and get it arranged better. I’d like to finish tracking for a third song by the end of this week, but we’ll see how it goes. I’ll put pictures up as soon as I can.
